There’s a lot of good reasons to go back to school to further your education. For me, it was to advance in my career, make more money, and have the satisfaction of earning a college degree.  For you it may be completely different reasons.

You need to get a degree to advance in your career

You need to enhance your job skills

You need the credentials that qualify you as an authority or expert in your field.

You want to make more money

You want the personal satisfaction of achieving an educational goal.

You want to take courses for self-improvement

You want to broaden your understanding of the world around you.

 Some other reason

If you checked one or more of the above boxes, you're well on your way to making a decision. However, there may be some significant obstacles standing in your way.

"If you think education is expensive, try ignorance!"
Andy McIntyre

 Too expensive

You have a disability or physical ailment

 You have a full-time job

 You have kids

You live in a remote area

 You don’t have enough information

 You hate the classroom environment

You’re embarrassed to have to go back to school

Some other reason that's interfering with your educational goals

Do any of these sound familiar? While these may be significant obstacles, they are not insurmountable. With drive, determination, and the right online college program, you can reach your educational goals!

Attending classes at a traditional college campus may be the right choice for some students, but for students who need to balance work, family, and social life, an online degree program may be the way to go.

Earning your degree over the Internet minimizes the sacrifices you normally make for education. So now, even if you didn't think you could, a college degree is within your reach!

Benefits to taking online college classes include:

  • The ability to attend class anytime, anywhere
  • No travel to and from campus
  • High quality, accredited programs
  • Available financial aid
  • Allows a balance of professional, family and social obligations.
  • Tuition costs may be partially tax-deductible
  • May qualify for employer reimbursement plans

There are literally thousands of online education degree programs currently available from universities and colleges large and small. Do a web search using the keyword of the type of degree or program you want to pursue. For instance, if you are interested in getting an accounting degree online, simply enter the keyword "online accounting degree," or "online accounting school" and you will find hundreds of websites. If you are looking into a nursing program, type in "online nursing degree" or "online nursing schools" and see what happens.

When you find a few programs that look interesting, you can call or email the schools for more information. After looking over the information about admission requirements, tuition costs, length of classes, attendance requirements, and other details, you'll have a better idea about what programs you may want to enroll in.
